Founded in 1850 in Salt Lake City, the University of Utah has been around for over 150 years, averaging over 31,000 students every year. Utah offers close to 100 different types of majors to the undergraduate level. Utah ranks in the top categories in man fields of study including Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Economics/ Business.
I would like to go to the University of Utah because they rank in the top 50 colleges with the best Law programs at 41st. Utah also has their own Criminal Justice Center where they strive for students to become professionals in criminal and juvenile justice systems.
Join The Mighty Utah Student Section (M.U.S.S.)/ Climb The Summit
The M.U.S.S. is Utah's very own Student fan club for football, Men Basketball, and Gymnastics. By joining M.U.S.S. your are able to create everlasting bonds with other students and with the teams, while becoming a Utah fan for life as well.
The Summit is a brand new indoor rock climbing facility inside the Eccels Student Life Center. Adding on to an already massive 180,000 sq. ft. building, The Summit is home to a 54 ft. climbing wall and a 13 ft. boulder wall: equaling to over 4,600 sq. ft. of climbing.
Career Path: FBI Agent
I have always like trying to help others and I have felt that I would like to do that as my career.By taking Criminal Justice in high school and in college, I will be more than qualified to becoming a standard police officer, but I would hate to have a job where I work in an office all day as well. So why not aim for something bigger? The FBI would be a great place to challenge myself, still be able to help others, and still have excitement in my job.
Working with the FBI will be an exciting experience, because I get to investigate in many things including terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and crime; to name a few. Many would be scared or cautious to do this but, I actually would enjoy putting my life on the line, mak sure others are safe.
Hours:50 Hrs. per. week, $36 per. Hrs.
Annual Salary: Base Pay $65,000-$75,000 a year (Depending on where you are assigned)(Make up to $110,000)
Benefits: Medical and Dental coverage, paid vacation and sick days (both are 2-4 weeks periods), life insurance, retirement plans, and carry a gun almost everywhere.
Started in 1908 and first know as the Bureau of Investigation, the FBI has had to changed from handling regular crimes such as robbery and organized crime syndicates, to more pressing and new matters such as bomb threats and cyber based crimes. Even with the rise of new and destructive ways of crime, the FBI has and always will be able to adapt to the next and future generations of crime.
