Turn off the water after wetting your toothbrush
Turning off the water after wetting your toothbrush conserves and saves water in many ways. It saves the water that would be wasted by just letting the water run when you are not using it. If you leave the water running it just wastes the water when you did not even use it.
Use your dishwasher and clothes washer for only full loads
If you turn your dishwasher or clothes washer on without it being full it is wasting the water because you have to make a whole new load just for those clothes or dishes. It is important to do use the least amount of loads as possible because a dishwasher uses about 5.8 gallons every load.
Check faucets and pipes for leaks
It is important to check for leaks in your faucets and pipes because it can waste a huge amount of water. A small drip from a faucet can waste about 20 gallons of water a day. If we conserved our water just think what you could use 20 extra gallons of water a day on without wasting it in broken faucets.
