Testable Question: How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a burned out bulb?
Iv(s): series circuit/parallel circuit
Dv: whether or not the other lights stay lit
Hypothesis 1: If the Christmas lights are arranged Ina parallel circuit then when one bulb bursts the others will stay lit.
The lights lit up very bright.
When I removed one light bulb the others stayed lit.
Hypothesis 2:If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then when one bulb bursts the others will not stay lit.
The bulbs didn't light as bright as they were in the parallel circuit.
When I removed one bulb the others didn't stay lit.
A parallel circuit is the best circuit to use for Christmas lights. Number One, when one bulb goes out the others stay lit. In the series circuit if one goes out they all goes out. Number two, the bulbs burn brighter than in a series circuit.
