About Burton Goldfield

As President and Chief Executive Officer of TriNet, in the San Francisco Bay Area, Burton Goldfield helps grow a multimillion-dollar company responsible for providing human resources outsourcing to small and medium-sized businesses from multiple industries. Since joining TriNet’s executive leadership in 2008, Burton Goldfield has grown revenue in excess of 4X. In 2009, he also raised $80 million in capital to acquire Gevity HR, Inc., a large publicly held competitor. TriNet serves a client base of 175,000 employees and over 7,000 companies.

Commanding some 30 years of experience in sales and executive management, Burton Goldfield earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Syracuse University before launching his career. Directly out of college, he joined American Hospital Supply in 1978 as part of the company’s first information technology (IT) product to service hospitals. In this role, Burton Goldfield developed a passion for business and he returned to school, earning a Master of Business Administration from Villanova University, before joining Rational Software in 1989. Over the following 14 years, he helped take the software engineering firm from a $25 million small business to a $700 million major industry competitor. IBM purchased Rational in 2002.
