Question-Does the shape of an ice cube affect how quickly it melts?

Hypothesis- I think the thin ice will last longer because it's thinner and the other one is thicker?

Variables-ManipulatedThe ice cubes are a different shape.

Controlled Ice is place in water.
Responding variable The amount of time it takes to melt

Materials-2 clear cups.2 square ice cubes.2 thin ice cubes StopwatchWater.

Procedures-1.Fill cup up with water.2.Get the square ice from tray3.Get thin ice from tray 4. Observe the cube as it melts and time it.

Data-Melting IceSquare Ice Thin Ice47 minutes 30 minutes56 minutes 40 minutes

Conclusion-My hypothesis was incorrect I said the thin ice cube would last the longest but the data I took showed the square ice cube lasted 47 minutes and thin ice cube took 30 minutes to melt.

Research-My hypothesis was incorrect I said the thin ice cube would last the longest but the data I took showed the square ice cube lasted 47 minutes and thin ice cube took 30 minutes to melt.
