New Personal Conduct Policy
On December 10, Roger Goodell and team owners agreed on a new personal conduct policy. The new measures include a more extensive list of prohibited conduct, independent investigative procedures, and specific criteria on paid leave for an individual charged with a violent crime (CNN). It includes a number of new people added to the conduct committee, including many owners of NFL teams. The new policy applies to all personell, not just players. Players such as Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson recieved suspensions that later received criticism to how Goodell handled the situation. Goodell hopes these tougher punishments will lower the sexual assault and domestic violence rate in the league.
