Nation Of Islam

The Nation of Islam is a religious movement founded in Detroit, Michigan by Wallace D. Fard Muhammad in July of 1930. It critizes of being a black supremist and anti-semetic.This movement had an affect on African American during this time.

Black Feminism

Black Feminism argues that sexism class opression, and racism are bound together. Alice Walker's womanism was one of the theories that envolved out of the black feminist movement. Alice Walker and other womanist said that black women experienced different kinds of oppressions from white women.

Black Power Movement

The Black Power Movement was started in 1968 and ended in 1980. The Black Power Movement was the progress made by African Americans in the early 1900's at trying to get their civil rights. They used violence to get their civil rights.
