In the early 1900, America began expanding in many ways. Including technology, socially, fads and fashions, and just general ways of life.
The Great Train Robbery ~ A 14 minute modern western film that introduced the concept of using realism in movies by using a dummy to demonstrate violence and chaos.
Pulp Fiction Novels ~ A very inexpensive piece of media, usually a work of fiction.
At this point, fashion was leaving the victorian era. The Gibson Girl was one of the fashion staples, being a sophisticated, but messy up do.
President William McKinley was shot and killed on September 14th, 1901. The Summer Olympic Games were held in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904. In 1905, The Nickelodeon was born. This was where you could see a movie for a nickel. The Great Train Robbery was the first movie played in these theaters.
Music of this time was very carnival classic, Ragtime. Songs like, Hello! Ma Baby by Arthur Collins and The Entertainer by Scott Joplin, were very popular.
