A revolution is an act to overthrow a superior power in order to create a new system

Examples

In Cuba Flugencio Batista ran for President and when it was apparent he would lose he seized power and though he lost the Cubans realized that their democracy was flawed so they decided to overthrow their government and start over with a new system.

In North America the colonists from Britain were having trouble mainly because King George The Third was Taxing them on items they could not produce, Legal Documents, and tea. He also made it so there had to be a British solider in every home and many other things so the colonists decided to become independent by having a war with Britain and the colonists won.
