Abuse Against Women
Women's rights are being violated, like they have always been, all over the world. This has been going on for a very long time, all over the world. I don't think there is a reason people abuse each other
Women are not being treated equally. Women are forced to be sex slaves. It says all humans are born equally and with the same rights yet that’s not completely true. Even young girls have their human rights taken away from them at a young age. Women and girls have had their human rights ripped away and not many people are doing anything about it. As people we are born with certain rights.
Reducing a husband's liability for family support and prenuptial debts was another reason for wife sale. Taxes were sometimes paid by selling a wife and children. Gambling debts could be paid by selling a free or slave wife. Wife sale was a topic of popular culture in India, the U.S., China, Scandinavia, Nepal, Guatemala, and the Dutch Indies. It has been found under several major religions, including Christianity and Islam (Wife Selling 1).
Women suffer because they will always remember what happened to them. They were overpowered and forced to do things they didn't want to do and if they didn't do what they were told they were beaten. There is a few who do it, it depends on where its at.
Yes "in April 1998" (Women2000). People have tried and are still trying, but there are not enough people to make a change. It doesn't seem like any of these responses have been effective because it is still going on all throughout the world.
We can prevent this by making people more aware and bring people's attention to it. One woman is beaten by her husband or partner every 15 seconds. In 1992, the American Medical Association reported that as many as 1 in 3 women will be assaulted by a domestic partner in her lifetime --4 million in any given year. 85% of domestic violence victims are women (Mull, Jeremy 1).
The Declaration of Human Rights says "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."
