My Road to Success
The first life event I chose is the birth of my sister, Jesse. She has really shaped me into the person I am today, because she has always been a part of my life. Being an older sister has always taught me how important it is to be a good role model.
The second life event that really made an impact on me was getting my very first dog, Toby (this is not an actual picture, but he was a Jack Russell terrier). Toby was the friendliest, most playful dog ever. He taught me what a true companion was, because he was the best companion there was.
My third life event is the camping trip to Mount Cardigan in eighth grade. I believe my leadership skills flourished during this time because I was elected the camp group leader of my class, by my classmates.
Going into my freshman year of high school, I made the varsity cheerleading team which has made a huge impact on my road. Being a part of this team taught me a lot about teamwork, responsibility, and myself.
The summer going into junior year I got a job at Pizza Mia right here in Bedford. This job taught me even more about responsibility and helped develop necessary people skills that are required for everyday life after high school. I was recently promoted to a manager position that also positively impacted my leadership skills.
In the not-so-distant future, I will finally be graduating from BHS. It has been a long time coming, but I am very excited to end this chapter of my life, where my road will finally take a turn.
In the fall I will be attending college. Here is a photo of Michigan State University, where I will most likely be going. I will be studying pre-medicine here, and is my goal to work (and play) hard!!! This will be a huge life event for me... everything is going to change.
Getting accepted into UCLA's Medical School would be a dream come true. I know these four years will be very challenging, and they may even seem impossible, but my passion for helping people combined with my passion for science will make it all worth it in the end.
Although I have not yet determined what I'd like to specialize in, my ultimate goal is to become a doctor. I think I would either like to become a pediatrician or an obstetrician/gynecologist. If I am successful, I will complete my internship, residency, pass my boards, and finally become a board-certified doctor.
Right now in my life it is not my goal to have a family that includes children, as I really don't believe I'd make a good mother at all. It is my goal to own a Bernese mountain dog, though. I definitely want a husband as well, preferably someone who is also in the medical field. A dog and a man is all I really need!
