Egyptians were not in love with deaf , like some people think, but with life. They enjoyed life every moment. Children were the heart of the family, but if a couple didn't have a child, they would adopt one. The egyptians believed that you had to be kind and honest your whole life to reach the afterlife. Everyone, from fhe pharoah down, who made a mistake or lost their temper made up for it by doing good deeds to balance the scale.
The Nile is the largest river with the measure of 4000 miles long! It is shaped like the lotus flower like seen on ancient Egyptian art. Every spring, water ran off from mountains and caused the nile to flood. After the flood, rich black fertile soil was left behind. The ancient Egyptians called the rich soil "The Gift Of The Nile". This river also gave them water to bathe, drink, transportation trading, plants, etc. Today, Without the Nile River Egypt would be a desert.
The ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife but inorder to get there they do a process called mummification.They believed that in order to get to the other side they needed their body to be recognized. Wealthy people got mummified but poorer people could not afford this process. Priests wore a mask of Anubis, jackle headed god of the dead, in order to complete this ritual.
Religion was very important to the ancient Egyptians. They used polytesim, the worship of many gods, in their beliefes. The most important gods were: Ra, the sun god, Isis, the goddess of help, Orisis, the god of the underworld, Horus, god of the sky, and Thoth god of knowledge. They built religous temples that were like churches.
Egypt had a very strange geography. The Nile river was by Egypt and gave Egypt fertile soil to farm and grow crops on. Egypt is also surrounded by two deserts which leads you to think how egypt isn't a desert.
Pyramids were very important. They burried their pharoahs in pyramids. They had to put boobytraps in the pyramids to keep away tomb robbers. In these pyramids they made secret pathways to go from tomb to tomb. Building these pyramids was not easy. It took hundreds of years to build them without tools.
