The significance for the telephone is that years and years after the telephone was created it has become a huge part of everyone's everyday lifestyle. This invention has changed the way people communicate. The telephone was Alexander's first invention he  had ever come up with. Years later Bell's invention which is now known as AT&T used worldwide.
