Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow created this hierarchy to rank people's lifestyle against the graph. It is ranked in five sections, the first three are completely necessary for a happy working life. The top two are more like goals for people that want to achieve them. You have to work extremely hard for these goals and if you don't put the effort in, you wont achieve.
How Can You Motivate Yourself?
If you're working in a boring job, you need to try and find a way to motivate yourself, maybe ask for a raise and the boss may say if 'you work harder and better, I will give you a raise' and this should hopefully motivate yourself. Also by turning your work into something more enjoyable like a game, this can also motivate you to work better.
Job enlargement is when your job is kept the same, however your range of tasks is widened meaning you need to perform more and different task which may make you more motivated to earn more money and achieve more.
Job Empowerment is giving employees a certain degree of autonomy and responsibility for decision-making regarding their specific organisational tasks.
Job Rotation is the practice of moving employees between different tasks to promote experience and variety.
Job Enrichment is can be described as a medium through which management can motivate self-driven employees by assigning them additional responsibility normally reserved for higher level employees. By doing this the employees feel like their work has meaning and is important to the company.
Team Work is the combined action of a group to improve work, especially when effective and efficient.
