What would happen if we put the rocks in a pattern?
We think that the water will flow through the rock pattern because if the rocks are just lined up, the water would just flow on either side.
-Stream Table -1 Liter of water -Cup -Bowl -Ruler -Rocks -Soil
Set 1: We placed the rocks randomly on the soil and pushed them in a little so that they wouldn't flow away too fast and then we poured in the water. Set 2: We placed the rocks in a zig-zag pattern and stood them up. Then we pushed them in a little and poured in the water.
We set the rocks how we wanted them, then we poured in the water. When the water flowed down, some of the rocks flowed down with the water. When the water flowed down, it made the rocks fall down which is erosion. At the bottom there was foam, but we don't know why. We think that the rocks fell down/ made erosion because of the size of the hole in the cup and the water pressure. The erosion was the most important part of our experiment.
