genetics:a disease or disorder is the result of changes in an individual's DNA. known as a spelling mistake by mutations that go in the wrong order

ex: down syndrome

environmental: diseases or disorders that can be only caused to environmental factors

ex: breast cancer

lifestyle choices: diseases or disorders caused by some of the choices that can ruin parts of your body

ex: lung cancer

"down syndrome"

what is it: disorder caused by a chromosome defect, causing intellectual impairment and physical characteristics including short stature and a broad face.

what causes it: all people with Down syndrome have an extra portion of chromosomes present in all or some of their cells. This additional genetic material alters the course of development which shows by the characteristics of the child

How is the affected individual's life impacted by the disease: people with down syndrome are prone to having a hard time to develop, and do not process knowledge as well as most kids. these people may be bullied, not understand whats going on or have problems speaking  

Is it curable or treatable and how: there is no final way to end down syndrome, but there are ways to treat the people affected. it all depends on the strengths and weaknesses and physical problems that the child has.

"breast cancer"

What is it: breast cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts.it is mostly found in women but can also be in men.

What causes it: scientist have found that there is no real cause for breast cancer

How is the affected individual's life impacted by the disease: Breast cancer and its treatments can cause changes your body and how you feel about your body. This may be because of physical changes after surgery, hair loss from chemotherapy or weight gain.

Is it curable or treatable and how: Treatment of breast cancer depends on the type and location of the breast cancer, as well as the age and health of the patient. how ever there are therapy's once you have had surgeries to remove the cancer

"lung cancer"

What is it: A cancer that begins in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke

What causes it: Cigarette smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. But pipe and cigar smokers are still much more likely to get lung cancer than non smokers. They are also much more likely to get cancer of the mouth or lip.

How is the affected individual's life impacted by the disease: People facing cancer often find themselves facing the possibility of their own death. At first, some people focus on dying from cancer instead of living with cancer. As one woman explained, just after she was diagnosed with lung cancer she isolated herself from her family and spent a lot of time alone in her room. Before long, she realized the cancer wasn’t going to go away on its own. She decided that she could either keep pulling the covers over her head or she could tackle cancer the way she did other challenges

Is it curable or treatable and how: no there is not a cure because until people realize that smocking and tobacco is unhealthy people are going to continue doing it. however once you have it, you always will.
