A Win-Win!

My name is Jordan, and I wanted to share with you how I got involved with LifePoint Church's OutRun Homelessness 5K and Fun Run. Last year's first annual race popped into my life at just the right time. Following a sermon series by Pastor George at LifePoint Church on physical health and well-being, I made a commitment to exercising and running (something I always disliked). After training for and running in a couple 5K races with my son, LifePoint's OutRun Homelessness 5K allowed me to continue my training while serving others.  A win-win!

As a volunteer for OutRun, I serve in various capacities.  Last year, I worked to identify worthy groups in the area addressing the needs of homelessness in Collin County and partner with them as recipients of our race proceeds. Last year it was so rewarding to see $7,792.62 go to each of our partner organizations from the race proceeds which totaled $54,548.34. Go God!  This year, I am focusing my efforts in finding businesses and individuals to become sponsors of our race, and I am working with the medical team to meet needs on

Along the way in my involvement with OutRun, I have met so many wonderful people, each doing their small, but integral, part to improve the lives of those less fortunate. It has been an inspiring and meaningful experience, and I can't encourage you enough to join us in working together to eradicate homelessness. It's not too late to register, and if you'd like to join our volunteers and me, we'd love to have you on our team!  It's a win-win!
