~ History: During the Great Depression, many immigrants stayed in the very small apartments.

~ Ethnicity: Uptown is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Chicago.

~ Many immigrants settled in this area.

~Immigrants came from: Central America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa

~Attractions: Luxury apartment buildings and hotels

~ The uptown theater is a big attraction

~ Considered as the shopping district

~ Fun Fact: Heart of American film industry
