When looking at a Learning Management System (LMS) and a Course Management System (CMS) definitions, I think the lines are very blurred on each other. The main focus of an LMS is to deliver content that has already been created.

A CMS (Course Management System) has a more limited functionality than an LMS. A CMS systems supports course materials online and student assessment. LMS is more robust learning platform. I use Edmodo as my LMS and with the features that I am allowed to used makes my class instruction more complex than simply posting to a wall. The app store in Edmodo adds a whole other level to the LMS.  I love teaching with LMS>
