In session 1, I got to learn about some careers that focus on using design and drafting programs. I learned the difference between CAD and CADD. I got to see that Architects follow the High Level Architectural (HLA) standards and Engineers follow the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) standards. I got to create a soapbox racer car on the Design program.
In session 2, I learned about extension and dimension lines. I got to use the Design CAD software to add dimension and extension lines to the soapbox racer car.
In session 3, I got to create a multi-view drawing of several geometric solids. I made two different types of rectangular prisms. I also learned about isometric drawings.
In session 4, I continued to work with the DesignCAD software. I made multi-view drawing of a wooden wheel. I also got to learn about cutting-plane lines and section lines.
In this session, I got to learn about the fundamentals of a floor plan design. I got to begin my floor plan for my house on the Punch! Home & Landscape software. I learned about the different type of plans that architects use.
In this session, I got to add cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and appliances to my floor plan.
I added electrical outlets, made changes to my roof, and printed out my floor plan.
