Fr. James Caddy Scholarship Fund

Fr. James Caddy Scholarship Fund

In honor of Fr. James Caddy's retirement after 50 faithful years of service to the church community, “The Fr. Caddy Scholarship Fund”, benefitting a male and female student entering the 8th grade at St. Francis of Assisi, has been established.

The Purpose of the Fund is to award annual scholarships to a male and female student entering the 8th grade at St. Francis of Assisi School in Gates Mills, Ohio. The criterion for the scholarship was established by Fr. Caddy in consultation with various parish and school leaders and will be based upon the following:

  • Character
  • Service
  • Leadership
  • Effort
  • All students currently enrolled at St. Francis of Assisi and who have registered for 8th grade at the school will eligible for the scholarship. The students will be nominated by the 7th and 8th grade core subject teachers, “specials” teachers (art, music, technology, and physical education), principal, vice-principal, pastor and vicar, with each nominating one male and one female student.

The Fr. Caddy Scholarship will be awarded beginning in May 2015 and announced each year at the honors assembly in May. The annual award will be based upon the amount of the fund at the time of the award, with a minimum award of 4% of the funds value up to $2,000 per year, per student.
