About California College of Ayurveda

The California College of Ayurveda is a holistic health education institution based in Nevada City, California. Founded in 1995, the school is the first of its kind outside of India. One year after its establishment, it became the first state-approved facility for Ayurvedic medicine in the United States. Students of the school may take a variety of courses as they work toward their Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) certification, including a number of workshops and seminars designed to prepare students to become successful professional healers. The California College of Ayurveda is led by Dr. Marc Halpern, a recipient of the award for Best Ayurvedic Physician from India’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare. In addition to his holistic skills in Ayurvedic medicine, Marc Halpern holds a doctorate degree in chiropractic medicine from the Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Ayurvedic healing has existed for more than 5,000 years and has helped millions of people achieve optimal health. A practitioner of Ayurvedic healing is capable of understanding the human body as a whole, including the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.
