Our first day-June 8th, 2015
What a busy day!!! We began with a trip to Toys R' Us in Rockford, where Cam got a new bubble glider! Then a picnic lunch in the car at the park in Rockford. We headed back to Cam's favorite park-Hopkins Park in DeKalb, and played until it began to rain. We ended our day at Culver's during a huge thunderstorm!

Today was the first day we were able to go to the swimming pool in DeKalb. Cameron was very excited to wear his new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle swim trunks!

This summer, Cameron and I visited many new parks in the area. Sometimes we would go to 2 or 3 parks in a day. Cameron would ask, "Can we go on a park tour today, Ria?"
June 17th, 2015
Cam spent the night at our house this evening, and I had a Rochelle City Band Concert to perform in. Of course, we had to bring the glider to the concert.
When Cameron was allowed to choose a toy from Five Below, (his favorite store) he chose a "make your own glider" kit. My cats thought this was interesting, too...

- We were invited by Melissa and Jacob Ost to go to Madison, Wisconsin to visit the Henry Villa Zoo. This zoo is completely funded by donations, and it's amazing! We had such a great time!
A polar bear decided to come and say, "Hello!" to us.
The boys had the train ride ALL to themselves!

On an afternoon too chilly for the pool, Cameron and I decided to stop at the Rochelle Airport for some lunch. We were able to watch some planes take off and land, and Cam was able to play in the "sandbox", a.k.a. the sand volleyball pit.
July 1st, 2015
Another cool day, so Cam and I headed up to Monkey Joe's in Rockford.
After lunch, we hung out at a park in Sycamore.
July 2nd, 2015
After a trip to the park and a stop at Aspen Leaf for some yogurt, Mommy had a big surprise waiting for Cam when we got back home....

What do you do when Mother Nature gives you ANOTHER rainy day?
You have an indoor picnic and a movie!
July 9th, 2015
A fun day at Kidsground in Rochelle.
July 15th, 2015
On a beautiful summer day, we met Dawn Johnson and her grandchildren, Norah and Louis at Kidsground for a play date. Such a fun day!
July 17th, 2015
The very next day we were back to having rain, so Cameron and I played with water balloons on the sidewalk. At this point, we are wondering if Mother Nature will ever give us summer!
July 22nd, 2015
We are off to the zoo again! Yea! This time we were invited by Brenda Ryan and her daughter, Macey. A friend of Macey's, Kate, also joined us for the fun!
Polar bears know exactly what to do on a hot summer day!
Cameron waited all day to see his favorite animals, the penguins. When we went to see them, they came right up to the glass! Cam was SO excited!
The very last exhibit we went to see before leaving was the butterfly house. Cameron later said that this was his favorite part of the day.

July 28th, 2015
After a trip to the park, we headed over to the pool for a day of splashing and swimming. And the little boy who wouldn't even get his hair wet at the beginning of the summer is now holding his nose and putting his face in the water, and swimming around with the aid of his swim vest! Yea!!!!!
This is the first time Cameron went down the water slide on his own at Hopkins Pool.
July 29th, 2015
After another beautiful day at the pool, Cameron and I went to the Sycamore Theater to see the "Minions Movie." It was awesome!
August 3rd, 2015
Cameron and I chose to spend this beautiful summer day at Blackberry Farms in Aurora. We went on the train ride, the carousel, the hay ride, and Cam rode a horse named Scout. We also saw a blacksmith, a log cabin, a woman making pottery, a one-room school house, and so much more!
August 7th, 2015
Today we were helping out Mommy's neighbor by babysitting two of her children for a couple of hours. Her daughter, Lillian, is Cameron's age-almost five. Her son, Sebastian, is almost three.
We went to the park and had a great time!
August 11th, 2015
After volleyball camp today, Cameron and I invited Madison and Jacob to come with us to the Burpee Museum in Rockford. We got to see some amazing things today, then had a picnic lunch outside.
We were also able to play at Kidsground in Rochelle when we got back in to town.
August 12th, 2015
1 tarp+3 bags of sand=SANDBOX!!!
With all of the parks we visited this summer, only 1 had a sandbox. This was very disappointing to us, so we made our own!!!
August 17th, 2015
Cam was very proud of himself for holding his nose and going under the water. Notice he's not wearing the swim vest or ring...
August 18th, 2015
Well this is our last day of what mommy likes to call "Cama-Ria Summer Camp."
I have had so much fun this summer. I can't believe it's over already! I still look in the rear-view mirror when I drive on the overpass, expecting to see two little hands in the air as we go down the "roller coaster." What an amazing little man I have been blessed with helping to care for!
I have created a list below of some of Cameron's favorites this summer, bordered by some of my favorite pictures. (I may have had just a little influence on some of these...)
