Registered Nurse (RN)
My Future Career Goal
When I get out of school I want to become a registered nurse (RN). A registered nurse treats sick or injured patients, teaches the public about medical conditions, performs diagnostic tests, operates medical equipment, etc.
I would like to work for Ruby Memorial Hospital.
You would need to have either an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) two to three years, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) four years, or an Entry-Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELMSN) one to two years after receiving your BSN.
You can get this education at Davis & Elkins College and West Virginia University. To get in you must have at least a 2.0 GPA and either an ACT score of 19 or a combined Math and Critical Reading SAT score of 910.
Some obstacles I may face are money problems. I might not have enough money to get into college. Another obstacle might be my grades.
I can over come these obstacles by working really hard in school to keep my grades up and to try and get a scholarship.
