Chemical Reaction:
Hydrogen Peroxide & Yeast

Video

Logger Pro Temperature Graph

The temperature increased when hydrogen peroxide and yeast were mixed. This is an exothermic reaction because energy was released. The lowest temperature was 22 degrees Celsius and the highest was 28 degrees Celsius .

Chemical Equation : 2H2O2 --> 2H2O + O2

In my reaction four atoms of Hydrogen and 2 atoms of Oxygen were added to 2 atoms of Oxygen. This yields 4 atoms of Hydrogen and 4 atoms of Oxygen.

The Law of Conservation of Mass is demonstrated as follows:

Reactants:                         Products:

O-4                                      O-4

H-4                                     H-4
