Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is the "computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a helmet with a screen inside or gloves fitted with sensors."

When you're using virtual reality, you can escape to a new world using special technology. You can play video games, endure military training, learn in school, conduct business question, and so much more.

Oculus Rift

Oculus Rift is the newest example of virtual reality gaming. It was recently bought by Facebook for 2 Billion Dollars!

All of the details are not totally worked out with Oculus Rift, but it is supposed to be released to the public in the near future. Facebook currently owns the Oculus Rift company, so it will be their decision as to what happens to the virtual reality gaming system.

Virtual Reality Training

Since war is such a crazy and dangerous experience, military officials have been using a realistic version of virtual reality to help soldiers prepare for battle.

This technique is supposed to give training soldiers the complete battle experience, so when it comes time to actually fight, it will not be a totally new situation for them.

Above is a picture of two soldiers training using small virtual reality systems. They are probably seeing images of  a war battle and learning how to react to life or death situations.

The future of virtual reality is constantly changing. There are new advances all the time, and who knows what could be coming next? The virtual reality world is impacting our learning, gaming, training, and so much more.
