Small districts doing 1:1 is encouraging. I have lots of questions about the details---like did they have wireless available in the community to help students complete assignments at home?...How did the coordinate PBL across the curriculum?

In the last video, a gentleman raised the point that we need to provide students with job skills for any future job in any place. In order to achieve this, students need to be provided with 21st century skills such as the ability to maneuver successfully with technology. Allowing students to use technology within the classroom boosts their interest in education which will help to increase testing performance and graduation rates. This will lend to students becoming more successful within our society.

The videos addressed issues such as poverty/culture but using technology to enhance/engage student growth. Also, technology is used a part but not the whole aspect of contribution to the utilization of it but building the community (teachers, family, students, all stake holders)

"even the playing field" Students in Caswell County deserve every opportunity to better themselves through education, 1:1 will give all of our students a new way to learn. Teachers will have millions of new resources to reach our students. I like the comment about how we might have to wear our seatbelt, but we'll get through it. IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

My take away from these videos is that this movement is going to be monumental for our students. Just from personal experience of implementing group research projects in my classroom, this implementation of one to one is going to allow me as an educator to establish a deeper connection with my students through classroom goals, achievements and success!! I am so excited and need the distributions date to move up to the first month of school!! #dowereallyhavetowait

The 1:1 initiative is about providing students with an opportunity that they may not be able to have at home. Opening up the vast amount of information to our students, just at their fingertips, we can really immerse them in the global community. Not only with a new resource available, we are able to prepare our students to be competitive in our ever growing 21st century economy.

My favorite part was when the young man said that he was going to further his education by going to community college so he could break the cycle of poverty in his family. How awesome would it be to give every child this opportunity?!?

The ownership that has grown for students in their education just by simply adding another resource through the technology. The fact that it "levels the field" for all students, regardless of the background. It such an amazing thing!

Watched first video and love the motto every child every day. If we keep that idea in mind even through the tech trials we will make it and make a difference in caswell county
