What is a Cinquain?

A cinquain is a five line poem that has 2 syllables in the first line, 4 in the second, 6 in the third, 8 in the fourth, and 2 again in the fifth. Cinquains are very popular, mostly because of its simplicity, and are similar to the Japanese poem writing technique, haiku. It was created by Adelaide Crapsey. [Cinquain is pronounced "sin-cane" not "sin-kwane."]
