The very hungry caterpillar basically talks about a caterpillar that hatched and was hungry. Everyday he ate one more things than he ate the day before. On Saturday he ate too much junk food and started feeling bad. He ate a green leaf and got better. Then he wasn't hungry any more so he built a cocoon around himself for more than 2 weeks. When he came out he was a beautiful butterfly.
Don't Be Greedy !
I made an inference that the author was trying to get across the point to not be greedy.
The reason i think this is because in the story it says, "That night he had a stomach-ache!" The caterpillar had a stomach ache from eating all that food on Saturday. This tells you don't be greedy, because there might not be a good result. In real life greediness can lead to violence. Being greedy can lead to violence by you wanting to control people. When you want people to control people you might have to harm them to get them to listen to you. Just like in the Holocaust when Hitler wanted to be powerful he was greedy for a army to try to take over people.
Be Careful !
I made an inference that the author was also trying to get the point across about being careful about what you take in.
The reason I said this is because in the story it says, "The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better." I related this to real life by watching the people you hang around because they can lead to bad results. If you hang around the good people in life you will be better and most likely to succeed. In this story the caterpillar need to eat a healthy green leaf and not cupcakes, pie, ice cream, and other bad things.
