How can it be used?

At first I thought it was simply an atlas and it did not appeal to me as something I'd put in use in my classroom. But then as I read the description it shows the geopolitical and geographic struggle which proves this app to be more valuable. With it you can show the shifts without having to constantly find maps and this can help any History teacher. This one app can help elementary to high school students and I believe is a great resources.

STUDYBLUE

What is it?

STUDYBLUE is a web-based flashcard system to help improve student learning and grades. Students and teachers will be able to create, share, and study flash cards helping to increase knowledge of the subject area.

How can it be used?

Again I was not wooed to the idea straight away seeing it as simply using technology to recreate flashcards and not improving the studying in any way. That was until I saw what else it offered. You are albe to collaborate with other students being able contact your classmates directly from inside the app, allowing you to have discussions, ask questions, and share flashcards. You can also set yourself reminders as to when you will be studying no longer relying on yourself for motivation. Also teachers can use the StudyBlue app to create flashcard decks and assign them to their students. They can then track the progress on how students are learning.

SparkNotes

What is it?

SparkNotes is  online study guides for literature, Shakespeare, poetry, philosophy, drama and short stories. You can access them either through the internet or download them to use them offline.

How can it be used?

SparkNotes has saved my life a couple of times. When you are studying for an English quiz but are not sure what to study SparkNotes can help you. It breaks down complicated phrasing into simple English, i.e. Shakespeare, making it much easier to understand. If you are writing an English paper it can provide you with themes in which you can write on. SparkNotes overall helps you understand what you are learning and make English class a little easier.
