The Middle East Mess

Whats going on in Iraq, and Syria

Syria has spiraled out of control, the dangerously extreme violence has spilled all across the border into Iran and now threatens to conquer the entire region. About 85 percent of the worlds Muslims are Sunni, but Shiites are the most majority in Iraq and Iran. The two sects became political rival, and a long history of discrimination, persecution, and violence on both sides followed. The Sunnis and Shiites had there differences, that's why the conflict started to happen between the two.

The 80 year war was celebrated a little to early by the Obama administration. Almost 1,400 years ago was the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632 A.D. there was difficulties over Islam's new leader. Both groups believe the Koran is the holy book and Muhammad was the worlds last prophet. For a long period of time time the the Middle East was with the Ottoman Empire, a Muslim caliphate going from North America to present day of Iraq. The US invaded Iraq in 2003 and its allies upset the apple cart. ISIS gained territory in north-western Iraq and Northern Syria. President Obama sent 300 American military advisers to Iraq to help the struggled, wounded Iraqi Army and increased surveillance flights over Iraq.

The Middle East region has already been overly stressed by more than 2.5 million refugees coming out of Syria and into neighboring countries. After all, the war just doesn't seem to come to and end, but we all hope it does soon.
