The Adhara star is a giant star about 431 light years away from earth. This star is bluish white with a temperature of about 22,200° K. Adhara is the second brightest star in the Canis Major constellation. In the night sky, it is the 22nd brightest star. This star has an apparent magnitude of 1.5.
The solar mass of the Adhara star is about 12.4, and the size is 25.0E30 kg. The radius of the star is 9667000 kilometers. This is also called the Epsilon Canis Majoris, since it is apart of the Canis Major constellation. Canis Major means "the greater dog", representing the bigger dog, referring to Orion.
