Columbia Utilities

75 Years in New York Oil, Gas, and Electricity

About Columbia Utilities

With a personal approach to customer service, Columbia Utilities has been serving the state of New York for over 75 years. Columbia Utilities started out selling fuel oil in the late 1930s, Currently, it sells fuel oil to all five boroughs of New York City, as well as natural gas and electricity to residential homes, apartment buildings, businesses, and institutions, such as hospitals and nursing homes, throughout the state. Since the natural gas and electricity markets have been deregulated in New York State, Columbia Utilities is able to offer customers an alternative option to their natural gas or electricity provider as an independent Energy Service Company (ESCO). Because the company is family-owned and operated, customers receive service with a personal touch. For fuel oil customers, the company maintains emergency repair services, which are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week during the heating season. In addition to serving customers, Columbia is active in its community, supporting organizations such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Cristo Rey High School, and the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), among others
