Set Designer for Wicked, Eugene Lee

Eugene Lee is the set designer for Wicked the musical. He was born in Beloit Wisconsin, 1939. Eugene went to Beloit Memorial High School. Eugene then went to Carnegie Mellon University. Eugene Lee holds BFA degree at the Art Institute of Chicago and Carnegie Mellon University, he also holds a MFA degree at Yale School of Drama. During the years Eugene has been the production designer at NBC's Saturday Night Live since 1974. Eugene Lee was inspired by a imagine in the novel, by Gregory Maguire. In his book there are several mechanical clocks, that inspired Eugene to put into his work.
Eugene Lee has received several awards; Tony Award, American Theater Wing's Design Award, Outer Critics' Circle Award, Drama Desk Award, Lucille Lortel Award, Elliot Norton Award for Sustained Achievement, Pell Award, and so much more. After the several awards, he received the Theatregoers' Choice Award for Wicked in London, in 2007.
Eugene Lee has a wife, named Brooke. They have two sons where they raise in Province. Eugene now works as a visiting professor at Brown University.
Eugene has worked in other musicals other than Wicked. He has recently worked in London where he has worked on a production called Drunk Enough to Say I Love You and Grasses of a Thousand Colours. Which was produced at the Royal Court.
