How the Conflict is being conducted- Chemical weapons, missile strikes

Cause of the Conflict- It started when 15 schoolchildren were arrested and reportedly tortured for writing anti-government graffiti on a wall. Protests began with calling for the release of the children, democracy and greater freedom for people in the country. The government was not happy, and on March 18 of 2011, the army opened fire on protesters, killing four people. The next day, people were fired upon at the victims' funerals, resulting in the death of another person. As a result, the news spread and people were shocked and angry at what had happened and soon the unrest spread to other parts of the country.

Efforts to Solve the Problem- In September 2013 Russia suggested a solution that could avoid a wider conflict—that the Syrian government should give up its chemical weapons and commit to destroying them so they can never again be used. The process of destroying the weapons began in October 2013 and the people were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Also, many countries have called for President Assad to resign in order to preserve peace, but the fighting has got too out of hand and other groups such as ISIS would take over the government.
