Inside and Out
Teens are constantly being told how they should look and what they should wear. if you're smaller then you're too skinny. If you're larger then you need to loose wait. Societal standards are driving adolescents to the brink of madness. 1 out of every 10 high school students will have an eating disorder. A disturbed body image is a significant component of a eating disorder and plays an important role in development.Body image involves our perception, imagination, emotions, and physical sensations of and about our bodies. It’s not static, but ever-changing; sensitive to changes in mood, environment, and physical experience. It is not based on fact. It is psychological in nature, and much more influenced by self-esteem than by actual physical attractiveness as judged by others. It is not inborn, but learned. This learning occurs in the family and among peers, but these only reinforce what is learned and expected culturally. There is nothing wrong with being perfectly imperfect. We all have our own ways that we perceive beauty, No matter what you look like or how much you weigh no one has the right to put you down. You are beautiful inside and Out.
