Attorney Craig Averill Negotiates International Music Industry Deals

Currently representing international recording artists such as Battles, Phoenix, and Interpol, Craig Averill serves as of counsel for the music business law firm Serling Rooks Ferrara McKoy & Worob, LLP, in New York City. As a legal representative for songwriters, producers, and other music industry clients, he has secured contracts with independent and major record labels, film companies, and music publishers. Craig Averill also manages a diverse array of affairs as outside counsel for various music industry entities, including independent music labels and publishers.

Early in his career, Mr. Averill worked as general manager for Gypsy Records, an independent imprint established in a joint venture with former CBS Records/Sony Music president Walter Yetnikoff.

Craig Averill completed his undergraduate studies at The Catholic University of America and earned a JD from New York Law School. Along with speaking at major music industry conferences, such as BIGSOUND, In The City and CMJ Music Marathon, he in included in the professional index of music industry publication The Manifesto.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Averill enjoys teaching his two children to surf. He also trains in kickboxing and mixed martial arts at Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts.
