In New Zealand
Water pollution is a big thing in New Zealand, With us having so much nature and peculiar birds & fish its necessary that we watch what happens with our Rubbish, Oil and even Soap. Where does it go? and just how big of a mess does it make?
Water pollution in our rivers
New Zealand Is usually referred to being called "Clean and Green" but with our "Poisoned waters" how are we clean? and most definitely green? We all know how hard it is to have to "walk" somewhere every know and again, But really. Driving is Polluting and polluting is turning our air and waters grey. Its not just cars. Simply living next to the river and fertilizing something ,e.g; a plant, and the fertilizer got mixed into the river. Now imagine everyone doing this, How would our river stay clean?. THIS MUST STOP. And its up to us to stop it.
Oil Pollution is vital to us as well as the fish. - We touch it too.
Pollution is one of the biggest global killers with over 100 million people suffering
14 billion pounds of garbage are dumped into the ocean every year. Most of it is plastic.
People who live in places with high levels of air pollutants have a 20% higher risk of death from lung cancer than people who live in less-polluted areas.
Mississippi River has around about 1.5 million metric tons of liquid nitrogen
Each year 1.2 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, storm water, and industrial waste are dumped into US water.
Over the last ten years we have produced more plastic than during the whole of the last century.
Some of these compounds found in plastic have been found to alter hormones or have other potential human health effects.
