LEONIDAS I

Leonidas was know as the greatest Greece warrior in Sparta. He wanted to protect the people of his kingdom from Xerxes their god/king. He led the Spartans forces during  the Second Persian War and is remembered for his death at the battle of Thermopylae. Leonidas was a military leader as well as a political one. Like all male Spartan citizens, Leonidas had been trained mentally and physically since childhood in preparation to become a hoplite warrior.
