The holocaust was the state-sponsered, systematic persecution and annihilation of European Jewry by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, between 1933 and 1945.

Antisemitism is Hostility or prejudice against the Jews. One of the most extreme examples of antisemitism is the murdering of the Jews at the hands of the Nazi's. Violent riots launched against the Jews were mostly encouraged by the government authorities. One of the most significant attacks was the Kristallnacht pogrom or the night of the broken glass.

US and the HOlocaust

During world war II the Nazi's started murdering the Jews. The american's knew about this and they didn't get involved until around 1943. The holocaust started around 1933.  The Germans started murdering, and shooting all of the Jews and they wanted them all dead.

When was the first camp established?

They were called "concentration camps" because the imprisoned people and they were physically "concentrated" in one location. Between the years 1933 and 1945 the Nazi's established about 20,000 camps to imprison the Jews. The first camp was probably established around 1933 and then million more were made. The Nazi's also had "death marches" this is were the Jews would have to march wherever they wanted them to and some would die along the way.
