George Stephenson was born in the time of Industrial revolution that Britain was starting to turn from a small city to a big city. George didn't go to school, but he was interested with machine since he was young. Therefore, when he was 8 years old he followed his dad to work in coal mine and this was how he learnt all about steam engines and machine.

During the Industrial Revolution, George Stephenson was of the representatives in that time because he investigated the first public railway in the world. And he also investigated steam powered locomotive.
