The haiku form of poetry originated in Japan, and poems are often written in Japanese.  The haiku is usually written in the 5-7-5 syllable per line format, however, many famous haiku have deviated from that traditional pattern.  Many have written haikus in a 6-7-5 format, or sometimes even a 5-8-6 format.  Hiaikus are usually and traditionally written about nature and all the magic it holds.  Many poems speak on the soft, gentle, quiet, areas, of nature, to portray a feeling of deep peace in the writing.
