About Darius Sivin

An occupational health and safety specialist, Dr. Darius Sivin works for the International Union, UAW, where he investigates injury hazards and chemical exposures in the workplace. Actively involved with policy, Dr. Darius Sivin has spoken about chemical security and water treatment facility protection before US Senate and House committees. He additionally served on the American Conference of Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Chemical Substances Threshold Limit Value Committee and previously functioned as the American Public Health Association governing counselor.

A graduate of the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Darius Sivin holds a doctor of philosophy in environmental studies, health, and epidemiology. His dissertation focused on the impact of a specific pollution prevention program on the exposure of workers to occupational hazards. During his time at the university, he received a Johns Hopkins Institute for Risk Sciences and Public Policy fellowship.

Outside of work, Dr. Sivin dedicates his time to several different Jewish organizations, including Shirat HaNefesh, Fabrangen Havurah, and Fabrangen Cheder. He volunteers with the latter organization’s Adventist Community Services initiative.
