FSU Chief Tech-Transfer Officer Daryush Ila
Daryush Ila joined Fayetteville State University (FSU) in North Carolina as associate vice chancellor for research and professor of chemistry and physics in 2011. Within two years, the FSU administration revised Dr. Ila's duties to include his efforts in technology transfer (Technologu Transfer Officer - TTO) and Dr. Ila's support of radiation safety needs of the university as Radiation Safety Officer (FSO). Dr. Ila, primarily, serves the school by supporting research and contracts activities, helping to increase research and contracts funding, to increase high quality faculty/student's research. In past, majority of Dr. Ila's MS and PhD students finish their degree with over a dozen publications, some of whom have had a book chapter and over two dozen journal publication while completing their PhD with Dr. ILA. An effective research team builder with exceptional management skills, he has additionally provided Fayetteville State University with a number of winning grants and contracts. Daryush Ila has successfully competed with much larger institutions while working toward grants and contracts valued at millions of dollars. To date his largest victories for the university include a $15 million grant and a $24 million contract.
Dr. Ila earned a master of science in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he focused on matters of nuclear physics. He later completed a doctoral program in condensed matter physics at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. He also holds certificates in finance and management from Harvard University and MIT, respectively.
