David Daneker - Health-care Philanthropist and Legal Counsel

David Daneker is a Maryland-based lawyer with nearly five decades of experience in corporate finance and healthcare law. Since retiring in 2007, he has remained involved with civic organizations and health-care-related nonprofits as an independent legal consultant. Most recently, David Daneker finished a five-year term as chairman of the board for the Augsburg Lutheran Home, which he has been involved with for over two decades.

Prior to his retirement, David Daneker served as vice president and general counsel of Sheppard Pratt Health System. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Maryland law firms for more than 30 years and taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore. His resume also includes a seven-year tenure as a law examiner for the State of Maryland.

A Phi Beta Kappa honors society inductee during his undergraduate studies, David Daneker earned his AB in political science cum laude from Haverford College. He received his JD magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as a member of the Board of Student Advisors. He has remained involved with his high school as a former member of its Board of Visitors and as a trustee of the Baltimore City College Scholarship Fund since 1994. David Daneker also served as the President of the Baltimore City School Board.

In addition to his legal career, David Daneker raised Montadale sheep at his Hydes, Maryland, farm, where he personally delivered more than 2,000 lambs during his farming career. He also served on the Maryland Agricultural Fair Board.
