I'll collect these tomorrow.

Task 1:  Attendance

Think of a word ending in "ing" that describes your summer.  When I call your name, say your word.

Task 2: Basic Classroom Expectations

I am going to show you
four statements, or "talking points".

First, silently consider these statements.

Think about whether you AGREE, DISAGREE, or are UNSURE about each statement.

In your groups, each student will take a turn explaining whether he/she Agrees, Disagrees, or is Unsure about each statement.

NOTE:
When someone in the group
is answering,
everyone else is listening.

NO ONE comments
on another’s reasoning.

We'll do 3 rounds.

1st Round:
Each student takes a turn saying Agree, Disagree, or Unsure, providing an explanation.

2nd Round:
Each student goes around again, but this time a student can change his/her mind.

ONE LAST THING...
I use Google Calendar
to post daily assignments.
