December's Round Up
A Note from your ITRT

There is so much out there, I thought I would put a few items to share from the #peel21st community.

Hour of Code

Have you heard about the hour of code?

The challenge is to provide students an opportunity during the week of Dec. 8th, providing learners with a chance to see what happens behind the screen. For a quick collection of resources click here. Earn your badge with #peel21st course on D2L (accessible through byod.peelschools.org). Click HERE for an overview, or HERE for instructions on how to enroll.

Technology & Mathematics

It has been wonderful to see the many ways educators are using technology to provoke and capture student thinking. Below is a link to an iBook the iTunes U team created (Looking forward to the grade 6 iTunes U courses soon) as well as a tackk from the PETL session on digital provocations if it is of interest. Dan Meyer's clip is really exceptional!

BYOD Page

There are so many different tools available on the BYOD page. I know there are still some questions in the system around what they are for.

Here is a quick thinglink including a quick description for each tool. For the full tackk, CLICK HERE.

For Fun

Have you seen this clip by Sesame Street of the Power of Yet?

As we look at a goal for 21st century teaching and learning, Mitchel Resnick seemed to have captured it well.

Well that sums it up. #peel21st #edchat #WordSwagApp

Have a wonderful December!
