December's Round Up
A Note from your ITRT
There is so much out there, I thought I would put a few items to share from the #peel21st community.
Hour of Code
Have you heard about the hour of code?
The challenge is to provide students an opportunity during the week of Dec. 8th, providing learners with a chance to see what happens behind the screen. For a quick collection of resources click here. Earn your badge with #peel21st course on D2L (accessible through byod.peelschools.org). Technology & Mathematics
It has been wonderful to see the many ways educators are using technology to provoke and capture student thinking. Below is a link to an iBook the iTunes U team created (Looking forward to the grade 6 iTunes U courses soon) as well as a tackk from the PETL session on digital provocations if it is of interest. Dan Meyer's clip is really exceptional!
There are so many different tools available on the BYOD page. I know there are still some questions in the system around what they are for.
Here is a quick thinglink including a quick description for each tool. For the full tackk, CLICK HERE.
Have you seen this clip by Sesame Street of the Power of Yet?
As we look at a goal for 21st century teaching and learning, Mitchel Resnick seemed to have captured it well.
