My american dream is to live the all american way. Take advantage of all opportunities and everything the world has to offer. To own your own house and vehicle. Most important to have a job and be financially stable with eventually making a loving family.

Myrtle Wilson wasn't happy in life because her husbands business is unsuccessful and they lived poor.
She started having an affair with Daisy's husband Tom Buchanan.
They would go to the apartment that Tom rented for Myrtle on weekends and party.
Tom bought her a string of pearls valued at $350,000.00, Myrtle felt special because she could never of got such a thing from her husband.
She had been talk down on Daisy one weekend because she was jealous of Daisy's beauty, wealth and her relationship with Tom.
Myrtle purchased a puppy for their apartment to fulfill the life of a family with Tom.

Myrtle Wilson wanted to be taken care of in a wealthy environment. Striving for attention to be the best of the best. In her mind she was better than her husband and deserved a better life. When she was with Tom she got that satitfaction. Her statement about her husband proves she regreted her marriage with him and wanted to pursue the rich lifestyle.
