John Adams was the 2 president of the United States but the first president to live in the Whitehouse his term lasted from 1797- 1801. He was one of the seven key political leaders who became a founding father of the U.S along with George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. John Adams supported Paul Revere and was in Boston the time of the Boston Tea Party. He defended soldiers that where accused of killing 5 people in what now is known as the Boston Massacre he wanted to assure that they had a fair trial. John Adams not only signed the Declaration of Independence but he wrote the preamble stating that King George lll had rejected reconciliation and was hiring foreign mercenaries to use against the American colonies. He was an important part of colonial times and the revolutionary war he was truly a colonial hero.
