Reason: King Charles the second for the England specified in the charter given to William Penn.

Demographics

A population of 400 people.  The religion was mostly quakers, and the population was 400 until the beginning of the 1700s.

Economy/ Trade

The Middle colonies were successful and diverse. Their major industries are steel, farming (corn, oats, soybeans, mushrooms), mining (iron, portland cement, lime, stone), electronics equipment, cars, pharmaceuticals

GOVERNMENT

Commissioners from Virginia and Pennsylvania agreed on the western boundary in 1779. It was fixed at meridian five degrees of longitude west of Delaware, River along Mason and Dixon's line. The northwest corner of the state, called the Erie Triangle, was purchased by Pennsylvania from the federal government in 1792. Pennsylvania was the 2nd state in the USA: it became a state on December 12, 1787.

Geography

July tends to be the state's warmest month, and although temperatures can reach over 90°F (32°C) in the southeast and southwestern areas (near Pittsburgh), average temperatures are usually about 80°F (27°C). January is the coldest time of year, with temperatures dropping to about 23°F (-5°C). Tornadoes and floods can occur.

Unique Characteristics

Pennsylvania is the word of latin “ Sylvania” meaning woodland together with Penn. Pennsylvania is the only original colony not bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. Pennsylvania nickname is "Keystone State". The Capital is Harrisburg.
